The centrepiece of the concert will be a rare performance of Harold Darke's cantata 'As the Leaves Fall.' This 1917 setting of a poem by a serving officer in the RAMC is a deeply moving and eloquent testimony to the fallen, while the rest of the programme is made up of words and music which reflect the England they were fighting to preserve.
